Willow Smith (USA, b. 31 October 2000) was 10 years 48 days old when "Whip My Hair" debuted at No.2 on the UK Official Singles Chart on 18 December 2010.
Willow, the daughter of actors Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, spent 12 weeks in the UK chart with "Whip My Hair". On the pre-Christmas-week chart in 2010, she was runner-up to Black Eyed Peas' "The Time (Dirty Bit)", which climbed five places to No.1 to dislodge the X Factor Finalists 2010 from the top spot with their cover of "Heroes".
Willow returned to the Top 10 in 2021 with "Meet Me at Our Spot", a collaboration with Tyler Cole, released under the duo's moniker The Anxiety.
In 2024, Willow picked up two nominations for the 67th Grammy Awards (2 February 2025): Best Arrangement, Instrumental, and Vocals for "b i g f e e l i n g s", the final track on the standard version of her sixth studio album, Empathogen (2024); and Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical for Empathogen, although the award would have been presented to the album's engineers, rather than Willow herself, had she been the winner (the award went to Peter Gabriel's I/O).
