The youngest driver to claim a Formula 1 World Championship point is Max Verstappen (Netherlands, b. 30 September 1997) who was aged 17 years 180 days old when he finished in seventh place in the Malaysian Grand Prix driving for Toro Rosso-Renault on 29 March 2015. In the previous race Verstappen had become the youngest ever driver to start a Formula One Grand Prix and as of 2016 no under-18s will be allowed to compete, making it very unlikely this record is ever broken. Verstappen is so young that he doesn't own a valid driver's licence. He broke the record set by Danil Kvyat, who was also racing for Toro Rosso at the time (2014).
