Before Milly snatched this record title, Boo Boo was the smallest dog living in terms of height. Boo Boo measured 10.16 cm (4 in) tall when she was verified on 12 May 2007. She was owned by Lana Elswick and born on 15 April 2006.

Boo Boo measured 16.51 cm (6.5 in) long and weighed 680 g (24 oz).

In 2007, Boo Boo met the tallest dog living at the time, Gibson. Gibson towered at a height of 107 cm at shoulder length!

Ducky

Ducky smallest dog height former record holder

Prior to Boo Boo, the chihuahua holding this record title was a male called Ducky. Ducky measured 12.38 cm (4.9 in) and was also based in the USA, as Boo Boo; he was owned by Linda Messier, who owned another eight chihuahuas, and he weighed only 635 g (1.4 lb).

Danka

Danka Smallest dog living former record holder

Ducky overtook Danka Kordak’s position as record holder by 1.42 cm (0.55 in). Danka, the long haired chihuahua, measured 13.8 cm (5.4 in) in terms of height, and only 18.8 cm (7.4 in) long when verified on 30 May 2004. Unfortunately, Danka passed away on 30 September 2006.

Big Boss

Before chihuahuas as a breed became the uncontested holders of this record title, Big Boss the Yorkie was shortest dog in terms of height.

On the little canine's first birthday (7 December 1995) he measured 11.94 cm (4.7 in) tall and 12.95 cm (5.1 in) long and only weighed 481 g (1 lb 1 oz) when verified in Bangkok. His sister was the second smallest dog in terms of height when Big Boss held this title.
