The fastest speed in a 440-yard (402-m) NHRA race in the Pro Stock car class is 215.55 mph (346.89 km/h), by Erica Enders-Stevens (USA) on 30 May 2014 at the NHRA Summernationals, held at the Old Bridge Township Raceway Park in Englishtown, New Jersey, USA. Although the National Hot Rod Association shortened the length of Top Fuel and Funny Car runs to 1,000 ft (305 m) in 2008 following a fatal crash involving driver Scott Kalitta, Pro Stock cars still race over the traditional quarter-mile (440-yd; 402-m) distance.
