The greatest age reached by a survivor of the Titanic was 104 years 72 days. Mary Wilburn, née Davis (UK, b. 18 May 1883), who was 28 years 333 days old when the ship sank on 15 April 1912, died in Syracuse, New York, USA, on 29 July 1987. On 10 April 1912 the RMS Titanic sailed from Southampton, England with 2,207 passengers and crew. On 14 April, at 11.40 pm the lookout sounded the alarm and telephoned the bridge saying "Iceberg, right ahead". The Titanic collided with an iceberg and sank, claiming more than 1500 lives. Of the 2,207 on board, 712 survived.
