The record attempt took place during the 18th International Prosciutto Fair (ISAP), an annual celebration of the region's prosciutto-making traditions in Tinjan, Croatia. Participants travelled from across Croatia and Europe to take part, with each person required to slice five qualifying pieces of prosciutto during the two-minute attempt. The fair brought together more than 100 exhibitors, including 35 prosciutto producers from Croatia, Italy, Slovenia and Spain. All prosciutto sliced during the attempt was donated to a local primary school and nursing home.
