On 18 January 2026, Virat Kohli (India) compiled the 54th One-Day International (ODI) century of his career, making a 108-ball 124 against New Zealand at Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India.

The revered batter extended the record he set in the semi-finals of the Cricket World Cup in Mumbai, India, on 15 November 2023, when he scored 117 against the same opponents to reach a landmark 50th ODI hundred – one more than the legendary Sachin Tendulkar made in his career. And Kohli shows no signs of slowing down: he has now made three hundreds, 93 and two unbeaten half-centuries in his last seven ODI innings, dating back to 25 October 2025.

In 299 innings (311 matches) played since 18 August 2008, Kohli has scored 14,797 runs – second only to Tendulkar’s 18,426 runs in 452 innings – at an average of 58.71 runs per innings – the third-highest on record, after the USA’s Milind Kumar (67.73 in 21 innings in 2024–25) and Dutchman Ryan ten Doeschate (67.00 in 32 innings in 2006–11). Kohli’s top score of 183 was made against fierce rivals Pakistan in the Asia Cup on 18 March 2012.
