The most hours of live television presented by a host in one week is 29 hr 30 min 10 sec and was achieved by Björn Brost (Germany) in Brugherio, Italy, on 22 February 2020.

Björn has presented for QVC since 2001 and has presented more than 12,000 live shows during his career.

Presenting this much in one week is physically challenging, with lack of sleep being at the forefront. Björn has a good team around him who take care of all the logistics, which is needed as he has to travel back and forth between studios located in Germany and Italy!

Being a presenter for a live show is no easy feat. Björn describes his busy schedule: meetings in the morning to discuss the programme in detail, then it's off to the studio for set up, rehearsal, hair and make up, then one final run through before the show airs. After the show, the team get together to discuss the show... then the same all over again the next day!

When asked what advice he would give to anyone pursuing a career in presenting live television, Björn said: "don’t be afraid to fail, think about your viewers/customers benefits first - not about fame or money, those are the wrong reasons and you won’t be successful".

We also asked Björn what being a Guinness World Records title holder would mean to him:

"When I was a kid, before internet-times and with only limited digital entertainment available, the [Guinness World Records book] meant everything to me. It was my 'internet', my window to the world and to people and places and crazy and/or fascinating things".

He also said that his 11 year old son loves the book too: "beside all Nintendo, iPad & youtube stuff, this is a really big thing for him, funny: he does not care about seeing his dad on TV on a regular basis, but knowing that his dad might be a potential [Guinness World Records title holder] makes him really proud".
