OGLE-2005-BLG-390Lb is situated at a distance of 21,500 ± 3,300 light years away from Earth, near the centre of the Milky Way. This planet orbits a star located in the constellation of Scorpius at a distance that would put it somewhere in the region between Mars and Jupiter in our own solar system. Astronomers speculate that beside being the most distant extrasolar planet, this is also the most distant Earth-like planet yet found.
