The most capital cities named while on a rollercoaster in one minute is 48 and was achieved by Jonas Von Essen (Sweden), on Postkodmiljonären, in Gothenburg, Sweden, on 24 November 2025.

This attempt celebrated 20 years of TV show Postkodmiljonären in Sweden. Jonas is a memory athlete who appeared on the show as a contestant in 2023 winning the prize of one million Swedish Krona. He now sits on the show's panel of experts ready to help contestants who use the Ask the Star lifeline.

Jonas used the memory palace technique to prepare for this attempt. Meanwhile, host Rickard Sjöberg was surprised with the challenge as he arrived at Balder rollercoaster in Liseberg amusement park. Rickard has hosted the show for 20 years and had always hoped that one day he might achieve a Guinness World Records title - a feat high up on his bucket list.

Jonas and Rickard sat side by side on the rollercoaster and the one minute attempt began at the dynamic part of the ride. Rickard called out countries one by one from a shuffled list of 100 countries. Jonas, who kept his eyes closed for the whole ride, was watched closely by adjudicator Joanne who sat behind the pair. He responded to Rickard's prompts with the capital of each country until the adjudicator stopped the attempt at one minute.

Jonas successfully beat the previous record of 38. The record was awarded at 46 on the day and later increased to 48 once further audio recordings were made available to the adjudicator. This means that all of the answers Jonas gave were correct.
