Most people contributing to the same painting simultaneously

The most artists contributing to the same painting simultaneously is 5,084 and was achieved by Fundación Olga Sinclair (panama) with the support of local and international children to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Panama Canal in Panama City, Panama, on 18 January 2014. Over 7,500 children took part in the event with some painting their own individual paintings. The event was hosted by Ismael Cala of CNN and there were children present from dozens of different countries with the various embassies in Panama providing special delegations. The canvas was divided into long strips so the children could paint at the same time and once finished it was left to dry in the sun before being hoisted up onto the side of the hill below the Panama Canal Administration building. The painting took several hours to be properly fixed together with engineers from the Panama Canal volunteering to do the work themselves. The Panama Canal is currently undergoing a huge expansion project to allow the world's largest ships to pass through its locks.
