The longest running botanical periodical is Curtis' Botanical Magazine, which was first published in 1787 and is still being produced quarterly. The journal was established by the botanist, William Curtis (UK). After William's death in 1799, his brother Thomas and then son-in-law, Samuel Curtis continued the tradition. The magazine provides detailed botanical and horticultural information and drawings. The magazine's name was changed to the Kew Magazine in 1984 for some years, as it was run by Kew Gardens, but by 1995 the name was changed back to Curtis's Botanical Magazine. It is still quasi-run by Kew Gardens, UK.
