Unsurprisingly, given its name, you can spend an awful lot of time in Minecraft digging through rock for precious ore. Some bold Minecraft players have taken tunnelling to extremes. As of 20 March 2017, the longest tunnel created in Minecraft was a staggering 100,000 blocks long (that’s 100 km – longer than the island of Jersey in the English Channel), and was created by YouTuber ItzEpicGeorge. Travelling at average in-game walking speed, it would take more than six-and-a-half hours to get from one end of the tunnel to the other.
