Longest journey by hovercraft

The longest hovercraft journey was one of around 8,000 km (5,000 miles), by the British Trans-African Hovercraft Expedition, under the leadership of David Smithers (UK), through eight West African countries in a Winchester class SRN6, between 15 October 1969 and 3 January 1970.
