The largest transportable observation (Ferris) wheel is the R80 XL, designed by Bussink Design GmbH (Switzerland) and measuring 69.8 m (229 ft) in diameter. The first example produced, Star de Puebla, was installed for Puebla State Government, Mexico, on 15 July 2013. The wheel is transportable in the sense that no changes to the structure of the wheel need to be made for assembly or disassembly. It also does not require the installation of permanent foundations, and all pieces can fit into standard-sized 20- or 40-foot shipping containers.
