The largest tonsils are those of Patrick Kelleher (USA), the left of which measured 6.0 cm (2.4 in) long, 3.5 cm (1.4 in) wide and 3.0 cm (1.2 in) thick, and the right of which measured 5.0 (2.0 in) long, 3.6 cm (1.4 in) wide and 2.6 cm (1.0 in) thick. They were surgically removed at Jordan Valley Medical Center in West Jordan, Utah, USA, on 9 May 2014.

The left tonsil weighed 28 g and the right weighed 25 g.
