The largest pop up book is 4.70 m x 6.10 m (15.41 ft x 20.01 ft) and was achieved by Los Angeles Public Library (USA) and the Library Foundation of Los Angeles (USA) in Los Angeles, California, USA, on 2 July 2026.

The Guinness World Records title for the Largest pop-up book was set with Luceros y Penumbras: Unveiled on July 2, 2026 at the Richard J. Riordan Central Library in Los Angeles as the centerpiece of the library's centennial celebration. The project was a partnership between the Library Foundation of Los Angeles and the Los Angeles Public Library, and when open the finished piece measures 31 feet wide and 20 feet tall. It has pop-up elements that rise more than 11 feet from the page, and the whole thing weighs roughly 1,800 pounds. Los Angeles artist and printmaker Daniel González created the original artwork drawing on his own family history and his childhood visits to the library, while paper engineer Matthew Reinhart designed the book's three-dimensional construction, Ann Marshall served as exhibition designer and project manager, and the team at set-building company Goodnight & Co. provided engineering and fabrication for the full size book. Together, their collaboration turned a milestone anniversary into a record-breaking celebration of storytelling and paper craftsmanship.
