The Kalgoorlie Australian federal parliamentary constituency in Western Australia covered more than 2,600,000 sq km (1,000,000 sq miles), an area greater than the whole of western Europe. The constituency measured 2,250 km (1,400 miles) from north to south and 1,600 km (1,000 miles) from east to west and covered the whole state of Western Australia except for the Perth urban area in the southwest. The division was abolished in 2008, effective from the 2010 federal election.
