The ICEHOTEL in Jukkasjärvi, Sweden, which is rebuilt each winter, has a total floor area of some 5,500 square metres (59,200 square feet), making it the largest man-made ice structure. In the winter of 2014–15, the hotel featured an ice reception, ice bar, ice church and numerous themed bedrooms. Lying 200 kilometres (120 miles) north of the Arctic circle, the hotel has been recreated every December since 1990.
Around 1,000 tonnes of ice and 30,000 cubic metres (1.05 million cubic feet) of "snice" (snow/ice mix) are used in the ICEHOTEL's construction each year.
