Largest hangar - free standing

Hangar 375 (`Big Texas') at Kelly Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas, USA, completed on 15 February 1956, has four doors each 76 m (250 ft) wide, 18.3 m (60 ft) high, and weighing 608 tonnes. The high bay is 610 x 90 x 27.5m (2,000 x 300 x 90 ft) in area and is surrounded by a 17.8 ha (44 acre) concrete apron. It is the largest free-standing hangar in the world.
