The largest gathering of major telescopes is located at the Kitt Peak National Observatory in Arizona, USA. Kitt Peak is a 2,096-m (6,876-ft) mountain whose excellent observation conditions and atmospheric clarity have attracted the construction of 24 major telescopes on its summit since 1958. As of March 2014, there are 22 optical and two radio telescopes.
