The largest dragon boat regatta consists of 230 dragon boats in Daozhou Dragon-boat Race organised by People's Government of Dao County (China) in Yongzhou, Hunan, China, from 31 May to 2 June 2024.
Dragon boats are typically decorated with Chinese dragon heads at the front of the boats and tails at the back, but Daozhou dragon boats are decorated with wooden carving of different figures, such as tiger, dragon, phoenix and kylin.
233 dragon boats registered in the race. Around 6,300 paddlers from local villages of Dao county participated in the amateur race and up to 600 professional paddlers from all over the country competed in the race. The event attracted more than 100,000 audience.
