According to estimates published by Forbes, the current highest-earning male tennis player is Roger Federer (Switzerland), who reportedly earned $95.1 m (£74.6 m) in the 12 months up to 1 May 2023.

This placed him ninth on the overall list of the Top 50 earning athletes. His nearest tennis rival was Serena Williams (USA), who was placed 49th with estimated earnings of $45.3 m (£35.8 m) in the same period.

Having retired from the sport in September 2022, the vast majority of Federer's income came from off-the-court endorsements. His biggest sponsor was the Japanese clothing brand Uniqlo, which engaged him in 2018 under a 10-year contract.

Federer has earned approximately $130 m in prize money across his career, between 1998 and 2022.
