The heaviest pumpkin weighed 1,278.8 kg (2,819 lb 4 oz) when it was presented by twin brothers Ian and Stuart Paton (both UK) at the 6th Wargrave Nursery Giant Vegetable Weigh-off in Wargrave, Berkshire, UK, on 6 October 2025. The record was confirmed by the Great Pumpkin Commonwealth.

The same specimen, nicknamed "Muggle", also claimed the title for the largest pumpkin by circumference, with a stem to blossom girth of 649.8 cm (255.8 in; 21 ft 3.8 in).

The Paton brothers, from Lymington, Hampshire, UK, are seasoned growers of giant pumpkins, having been nurturing these plants for some five decades since their early teens. They have been very close to taking the world record title before, but have either fallen just short on the scales or been ruled out because of condition defects with the fruit. They claimed the all-time UK record in 2022 with a pumpkin that weighed in at 1,205 kg (2,656 lb 9.1 oz). This is the first time ever that the heaviest pumpkin world record has been held by British growers.

This surpasses the previous record of 1,246.9 kg (2,749 lb) for a pumpkin presented by Travis Gienger (USA) at the 50th Safeway World Championship Pumpkin Weigh-Off held in Half Moon Bay, California, USA, on 9 October 2023. It had a circumference of 642.6 cm (21 ft 1 in). Prior to that, the heaviest pumpkin weighed 1,226 kg (2,702 lb 13.9 oz) and was grown by Stefano Cutrupi (Italy) as ratified at the 10th Campionato della Zuccone pumpkin festival held in Peccioli, Italy, on 26 September 2021. That was the first ever giant pumpkin in competition to surpass the 2,700-lb mark.
