TV’s first spy series was the US’s Shadow of the Cloak (DuMont 1951-52) which featured Helmut Dantine as Peter House an agent working for International Security Intelligence. Another spy series Dangerous Assignment (US Syndicated), starring Brian Donleavy as US Government Agent Steve Mitchell, was produced at the same time but didn’t air till some months later.
