The first Guinness World Records title to appear in a MMORPG was part of the World's Biggest Coffee Morning, which is an annual fund-raising event for Macmillan Cancer Support. On 28 September 2007, Residents of Second Life (Linden Lab, 2003) joined in the coffee morning, which also saw the opening of the Second Life Macmillan cancer information centre within the virtual world.

The record for largest coffee party (multiple venues) is currently held by Macmillan Cancer Relief (UK), with a total number of 576,157 people attending over 26,000 meetings simultaneously throughout the UK on 26 September 2003.
