First Google bomb

Link bombing or Google bombing is a technique where Internet users manipulate Google search results by using specific terms to link to another page. The first significant Google bomb occurred in 1999 when it became apparent that searching for the term ‘more evil than satan himself’ brought up the home page for Microsoft. In 2005 Google bombing forced searches for ‘miserable failure’ to bring up the official biography of US President George W Bush.
