Tina Sjögren's success at the Poles constitutes the first completion by a female of the Three Poles Challenge - the conquest of the North and South Poles plus Mount Everest (regarded as a 'pole' owing to its inaccessibility). Prior to her polar expeditions, Tina had summitted Everest on 26 May 1999.
