First asteroid with a tail

P/2010 A2, discovered in 2010, is a small asteroid around 150 m across which orbits in the main belt of asteroids between Mars and Jupiter. Observations using the Hubble Space Telescope revealed a tail of dust almost certainly caused by a collision at over 15,000 kph with another asteroid. The collision could have occurred less than a year before the asteroid’s discovery.
