Pakistan opener Fakhar Zaman took just 18 innings to score his first 1,000 runs in One-Day International (ODI) cricket. He reached the milestone on 22 July 2018, during a match against Zimbabwe at Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe.

Highlights of Fakhar’s 18-innings sprint to 1,000 runs include an unbeaten 210 against Zimbabwe on 20 July 2018, 117 not out against the same opposition on 16 July 2018 (both matches from the same ODI series as his record-setting knock on 22 July 2018) and 114 against India in the ICC Champions Trophy final at The Oval, UK, on 18 June 2017.

Fakhar’s opening partner in Pakistan’s ODI team, Imam-ul-Haq, completed 1,000 runs in 19 innings on 25 January 2019, a sequence that included five hundreds.
