The fastest row in women’s coxed eights is 5 minutes 52.99 seconds, achieved by Romania (Viviana Bejinariu, Maria Tivodariu, Amalia Bereș, Ioana Vrînceanu, Magdalena Rusu, Mădălina Bereș, Denisa Tîlvescu, Georgiana Dedu and Daniela Druncea) at the 2020 Olympic Games Regatta in Tokyo, Japan, on 28 July 2021.
This was one of six world-best times set on the same day at Sea Forest Waterway. Romania set their time during the repechage for the final, where they would finish in sixth place. World Rowing acknowledges "world best" times rather than world records, owing to fluctuating environmental factors involved in outdoor rowing. All times cover 2,000 m races.
