The fastest motorized garden shed was built by Kevin Nicks (UK) and clocked a top speed of 170.268 km/h (105.800 mph) from a standing start over a two-way measured mile (1.6 km) at Pendine Sands in Wales, UK, on 22 September 2019.
At the heart of the shed is a Volkswagen Passat with Quattro four-wheel drive. Kevin beat his previous record time of 129.83 km/h (80.67 mph), set in 201 7, after refitting the shed with a 450-horsepower V6 twin-turbo Audi RS4 engine. The shed had to undergo rigorous tests to qualify as road-worthy by the UK Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency. As part of the same attempt, the shed reached a top speed of 169.558 km/hr (105.359 mph) over a flying kilometre (0.62 miles).
