The fastest average time to solve a rotating puzzle cube one-handed is 6.99 seconds, achieved by Zhen Chen (China) at the Wuhu Open 2026 event in Wuhu, Anhui, China, on 25 July 2026.
Chen recorded solve times of 7.27, 7.07, (6.12), (9.48) and 6.64 seconds, with the fastest and the slowest times discounted from the average as per World Cube Association (WCA) rules.
He surpassed the previous mark of 7.72 seconds, which was originally set by Luke Garrett at the Chicagoland Newcomers 2025 event in Hobart, Indiana, USA, on 9 March 2025. Garrett’s record was equalled by Crimson Arradaza at the GAN Tarlac Speedcubing Open 2026 event in Tarlac City, Philippines, on 25 July 2026.
