As of 28 November 2017, Pokémon Red and Pokémon Blue (Game Freak, 1996) were the best-selling videogames that have not been bundled with a console. According to VGChartz, 31.37 million copies have been sold since the games' launch. Pokémon Red and Pokémon Blue are two nigh-on identical (though separately sold) halves of the same game.
Pokémon Red and Pokémon Blue were originally released in Japan as Pocket Monsters: Red and Pocket Monsters: Green on 9 August 2013.
