The largest architectural star is the 3,240-m² (34,875 ft²) glass-clad octagonal structure at the base of the 211-m-tall (692-ft) television tower in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan. The opening ceremony was held in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, on 17 October 2011.
The Oguz Khan star is Turkmenistan's emblem. The state-owned, 31-floor concrete tower, which houses TV production and broadcasting facilities along with restaurants and meeting centres, was designed and built by Polimeks Construction Co. (Turkey). The tower has two parallel stars, but the record is based on one surface only.
