Japan’s HAL Laboratory, creators of the Kirby series, collaborated with the USA’s Sculptured Software to create NCAA Basketball for the SNES in October 1992. As well as being the first game to feature real American college teams, it was the first time 3D graphics had been seen on a console basketball release.
