Taking their name from Rogue, a dungeon-exploring game created in 1980 by Michael Toy, Glenn Wichman and Ken Arnold (all USA), “Roguelikes” are notoriously difficult role-playing games in which players explore randomly generated levels. The goal with such games is often simply to survive as long as possible. Sword of Fargoal has withstood the attacks of critics to score 85% on reviews site Metacritic, but with many games in this genre being released for IOS, how long will its record survive?
