The first life sim to appear in 3D – and therefore not require the player to wear 3D glasses – is the latest in the nintendogs series. The 3DS’s inner camera helps the virtual puppy recognize the player’s face, and dogs can even follow a player’s head movements. The pop-up pooches appear to leap out of the screen to lick their “owner”. As the name of the game suggests, cats now also appear in the series.
