Much of the early excitement about LaserDisc games at the Amusement and Music Operators Association show, held in the USA in 1982, was due to one title – Astron Belt. A classic rail shooter, the game itself caused less of a stir than the LaserDisc’s large storage capacity, which enabled it to feature full-motion video clips, something with which rival game systems of the time could not compete.
