With 14 distinct ways for the game’s story to end, Chrono Trigger has a greater variety of possible outcomes than any other Japanese RPG. The DS version beats the original SNES game because it features a new secret boss, the “Dream Devourer”. Beating this final enemy gives players an extra possible ending, but to stand a chance against the beast, players need to grind their character up to at least level 60. Defeating this monster also provides players with the ultra-powerful Dreamseeker weapon.
