With a total of 65 releases in the genre under its belt, Square Enix dominates the world of Japanese RPGs like a videogaming giant. The company, which both develops and publishes games, was formed in 2003 through a merger of Square, who made the Dragon Quest series, and Enix, the company behind the Final Fantasy titles.
