Using its Frostbite 1.5 engine, Battlefield: Bad Company 2 was the first game to introduce fully destructible environments to the Battlefield series. Players have the ability to flatten buildings, destroy walls and cut through chain-link fences. Around 90% of the environment is deformable or destructible – even the ground can be deformed. Battlefield 3, with its Frostbite 2.0 engine, is expected to offer players even more destruction, including the option of annihilating a seven-storey building.
