The sum of $250,000 (£144,000) was paid out to the aptly named gamers Team Legends after they beat more than 200 rivals to claim victory at the Best of the Battlefield tournament on 17 February 2006 in Redwood City, California. Playing Battlefield 2: Modern Combat on the Xbox, each member of the 10-man group earned $25,000 (£14,400). Runners-up Team Professional Skills (USA) were consoled with a sum of $50,000 (£29,000).
