Camouflage is key in Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater – the game’s 10 types of camo gear offer different levels of protection in different environments – woodland camouflage for jungles, for example. If players don’t select the appropriate gear (right), they increase their risk of being detected.
Modern remake Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D (Kojima Productions, 2011) may not have been the first 3D stealth game, but the game does have one particularly innovative feature. While the original version for the PSP provided Snake with 10 different types of camouflage, the 3D remake enables players to use photos taken with their 3DS as textures on Snake’s fatigues. Pink flowers might not be the best choice, though.
