On 24 May 2011, Angry Birds ended its 275 consecutive-day run as the best-selling app in the US Apple App Store – the longest period any app had spent in the coveted top position in Apple’s mobile phone gaming marketplace. The birds were finally flung from first place by the puzzle game The Heist (MacHeist, 2011), which sold more than 25,000 copies in its first day on sale.
