Originally created for the Sega Saturn, Real Sound: Kaze no Regret is an unusual graphic adventure in that it was created by game designer Kenji Eno to be playable by the visually impaired. Players were required to listen to a story and a chime sound to indicate when narrative-altering decisions could be made.
In exchange for exclusive rights to the game, Sega offered to donate 1,000 Sega Saturns to blind people. Real Sound was remade for the Dreamcast in 1999 with a “Visual Mode” that displayed still photos as the story unfolded.
