Most lines cleared on Tetris (NES Tengen version)

The most lines on the NES Atari Tengen version of Tetris is 5,597 lines, slotted together by Bo Steil (USA) on 19 May 2013. Bo achieved a 100% completion in this attempt and a score of 10,481,215. A dispute between Atari and Nintendo over gaming rights led to two different version of Tetris for the NES.

Steil's "most lines cleared" record on the Tengen version beats Ben Mullen's 296 lines on the NES Nintendo version of Tetris, which was still a world record for that version, as of 9 September 2015.

Alexey Pajitnov’s Tetris has influenced more than just a videogame genre. It has also inspired a variety of tessellating Tetris-themed products including tables, flower pots, shelves, ice-cube trays and kitchen tiles. There’s even a range of multicoloured Tetris-shaped soap bars!
