Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock (Neversoft, 2007) is the best-selling instrument videogame, with sales in excess of 16 million. Available for the PS2, PS3, Wii and Xbox 360, it introduced Tom Morello (from Rage Against the Machine and Audioslave) and Slash (from Guns N' Roses and Velvet Revolver) as battle opponents and playable characters. In 2010 Guns N' Roses frontman Axl Rose filed a $20m lawsuit against Activision over the inclusion of Slash, claiming he had granted permission to use rock hit "Welcome to Jungle" only if no images of the classic Guns N' Roses line-up or Slash's former band Velvet Revolver were used in the game. Guitar Hero III was released with Slash on the front cover, and Velvet Revolver songs were added as DLC. The lawsuit was dismissed by Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Charles Palmer on 7 February 2013.
