The most hugs in eight hours by a team amounted to 16,810 and was accomplished by Downy (USA) at the Canadian National Exhibition in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on 3 September 2011. A team of ten Downy representatives hugged visitors to the Downy booth at the CNE and Downy donated $5,000 (£3,000) to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada to celebrate the record.
