Oldest Usenet post

Usenet, established in 1980, was a forerunner to modern Internet forums and resembles bulletin board systems. Unlike BBS it is distributed among a global network of servers which hold and forward content to each other as ‘news feeds’. Google owns the database of archived Usenet posts, the oldest of which was posted on 11 May 1981 by Mark (now Mary Ann) Horton (USA). His post was part of a technical discussion relating to how Usenet should be administered.
